Until then, we're back sharing some cool history making wins for women of colour from this week + celebrating trailblazing founders who are revolutionising the tech industry and making the world a better place.

News Of The Week
Celebrating our wins 👏🏽
Politics
We’re (slowly) taking over 🙌🏽 It’s 2023. And for the first time ever women are sitting in every parliament on earth! We’re also seeing more women of colour and members of the LGBTQIA+ community running in elections. Here for it!
Of course, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. We’ve made progress for sure. But there’s still a way to go to achieve equal representation. The global share of women in parliament currently at 26.5% (might be time for all countries to take a page out of Spain’s book). Plus women of colour, people with disabilities and our LGBTQIA+ friends continue to face additional systemic barriers to entry.
Trailblazers
Barbie meets STEM 👩🏽🔬 Barbie released seven new dolls for International Women’s Day, honouring trailblazing women in STEM. Among the impressive lineup is Dr. Maggie Aderin-Pocock. Aka, the first Black woman to win gold at the Physics News Awards. And, Katya Echazarreta, the first Mexican-born woman to travel to space 🚀 Check out the honourees here.

Trailblazing Women - IWD Edition
Meet The Women Who Are Revolutionising The Tech Industry
ICYMI, yesterday (8 March) was International Women’s Day (IWD).
IWD is a time to celebrate the progress made towards achieving gender equality and women's empowerment. But also to critically reflect (and with an intersectional lens) on those accomplishments and strive for a greater momentum towards gender equality worldwide.
This year’s IWD theme focussed on the digital age, and leveraging technology to achieve gender equality and empower women and girls globally.
To celebrate the theme, we partnered up with our friends at Female Startup Club to share 7 women who are revolutionising the tech industry. Check out our post here.
